Well CD you know that your writing is extremely superb. I enjoyed your poem tremendously. The Bush &/or the vast wastelands, wherever you may be, must be a real comfort & joy for your imagination as opposed to us city dwellers! Loved it! giovanni

"Vast wastelands" would be overstating it, but I am glad to have escaped the city for the bush a couple of decades ago. Both have their attractions, but it's "horses for courses" , as they say.
Thanks for the wonderful comments and delightful rating, Giovanni. Both are very much appreciated -- Craig

He definitely did win all of his battles, but I think he might have lost the wars. I like the mythology that you put here in this piece. Well written! Good luck in the contest!

This was a great read, CD Richards. I really liked the message in this one about war and human nature. We definitely will never learn as a species that war is stupid and foolish. Greed and pride will always rule a few who can influence the masses. Great job.

I cannot even imagine anyone not giving this wonderful poem a six star rating. Well done, Craig. I am so glad that you are back. I'm about to take a short respite from FanStory, but I look forward to many posts from you when I return.

Thank you for the wonderfully kind words and delightful rating, Debbie. I think I've reached the conclusion that an occasional sabbatical from Fanstory is not a bad thing. I hope all is well with you, and will miss you while you are gone. Please make it a short absence :) Cheers, Craig

This poem speaks volumes! Such a clever comparison to the gods and the biblical deity. An educational read with a lot to say and compare to. A great write and experience in reading it! Lots of good dictation and vocabulary words to take home with. Best,

All humans on one team unburdened by the need to fight.....That will be the day when this earth shall have a rebirth.People who fight in the name of God are brainwashed. no god needs our protection..
this is a timely write. Thanks for sharing

A fine rhyming poem about the effects of war on us all and how humans feel the need to fight and evidently we will continue to do it! I enjoyed the sentiments here and your last stanza to sum up is magical, love Dolly x

"War", is an exceptionally well-written and thought-provoking piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but unfortunately I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.
