I love this. Your delightful flow and easily understood verse is phenomenally written without the letter "a". So well done. Good luck in the contest!!

It sure was a challenge to keep thinking up words with no 'a'.
Thanks for your review and good wishes.

I have never seem a humming bird in real life, and you brought the scene to me here with such delightful words, such a colourful vision, your meter is spasmodic, with frequent rhyming and the sentiments full of joy, love Dolly x

You would love them! They are so jewel-like. I tried to capture the feeling of it flitting about then hovering sometimes.

Wow!
You've written this entire poem on the diminutive, colorful hummingbird without using a single "a".
Now THAT'S impressive, Lisa.
Great work and best wishes to you in the contest.

It was rather a challenge! I had to really work my brain to use words without the common 'a'. Luckily English has a large vocabulary.
I hope I captured the spirit of the hummingbird.

I was amazed too! I had to rack my brains for suitable words; it was a fair degree of mental agility. Thanks so much for your review.

This descriptive poem has some fascinating, spot-on observations. Although once in a while the rhyme feels a little forced, I loved such phrases as "your colours molten in the sun" which is definitely how they look in such an iridescent sheen in sunshine, and also "pretty precision" which is a great alliterative phrase to describe them. Hope you do well in the contest.

Haha... no wonder the rhymes were forced! It was so tricky thinking of words without an 'a'. Thanks for your great review.

I amaze myself! It was very tricky.
I only saw a few hummingbirds when I was visiting but they were utterly gorgeous.
