Is there anything better than being in a cabin with the rain falling on a summer day, or night? Well, I don't think so. I, personally, love the smell of the earth after the summer rain, and I love the sound of it on the roof. This was a really sweet reminder of that. :)

Thanks so much for the lovely comments. The smell after a rain shower is also wonderful. Do I feel another poem coming on? Most grateful, Craig

Excellent job, Craig. You verse bring to mind the memory of hearing the sound of that type of rain. It also lets us know that you enjoy the simple things. Well done on this.

It's certainly sweet music when it comes. You'll have been having a bit of it out your way this winter, I expect. We've even got a puddle in the bottom of our dam.

Not enough of it, Tony -- our dam is bone dry. That seems to be a permanent condition now. I cart water from the council bore, summer and winter, just enough to keep our critters alive. Glad to hear you've had more luck. Cheers, Craig
