Beautifully expressed, and a great entry for the minute poetry contest. Best of luck Your rhyme and flow are outstanding. What a whimsical idea to keep wishes in jars. They represent hope that your dreams will come true, That sounds so much better than a Pandora's box with all the world's troubles in it. Certainly deserving of a 6. Unfortunately, I see mine are all gone. judi

Melissa,
As a rule, I don't like Minute poems. But you've created something rather special in this post. A dreamy thing; wistful and imaginative and full of delight. I can see a wee child capturing fireflies (for some reason) and turning them into something even bigger and better (though that would be hard) with their wonderful creativity. hahaha
The images are beautiful and your presentation is divine. *smile*
Thanks so much for a lovely read! Good luck!

What a gorgeous minute poem! I love your message that we need to release our tight grip on our hopes and dreams and perhaps then they would be realized. Best wishes in the contest!!

I just love this post Melissa, for those of us who can remember hiding under the bedclothes to keep the imagined nasties away from us, I guess that's why I didn't mind our girls snuggling in our beds with protective parents beside them, I remember sleeping on my own. A wonderfully presented minute poem dear Melissa, a superb effort, blessings Roy

A very well-written minute poem about our wishes and dreams that sometimes working together to help us enjoy life with whatever we have and hope the bigger dreams will manifest too.

We all wish wishes were like fireflies twinkling out into the night going higher and higher glowing like the stars we wish upon each and every night.

What a lovely Minute poem. And you found the perfect picture to accompany it. It would be nice to have a jar of stars under the bed to keep out the monsters. Good luck in the contest!

Very nicely written Melissa! Such a wonderful picture to go with your poetic mastery. The simplicity of a child with a dream, let alone us yet such depth to reach the desires of one's heart.
