Hello JLR, a fabulous Friday to you. I hope this finds you well, in good health and spirit. Thank you for sharing that deeply personal story with us. It touched me, as I too am guilty of keeping most people at arm's length, most are strangers to me. I will use this to reflect for sure. Have a great day my friend.

You my good friend have just made the entry to my weekend one that opens up a sense of completion. Every time I write it is my hope and desire, that through honest reflection I may just stir thoughts for someone and make a little impact. I it my wish that you find peace and joy at every corner this weekend.

A very interesting and well written piece about the strangers in your life. I am glad I took the time to read. A person with heartaches and problems ends up finding himself. Nice work. Best wishes in the contest.

Drew, I always hope in writing the harsh truth perhaps someone will read theses that might help them see through the eyes of another that they too may just to surrender to be found.

They say life is what you make it.....I'm so glad that you found yourself in time and could find your way to a better life. Somehow God can work a way in, if we let him. Going through what you did, can make a person bitter; God was watching and wanting to help.

Rosemary, it so true! God was always there, I just needed to make the effort to acknowledge His presence then as they LET GO and LET GOD!

Hello JLR.
Lovely piece of Spiritual Non-Fiction having impressive phraseology, smooth and captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end, and beautifully depicting its theme.
Some lines in the beginning and in the end are particularly noteworthy.
Best of Luck!

A very well-written heartfelt story. There are many parents who do not know how to open up before their children and make themselves strangers to their children and only they are to blame especially when they favor one child above the other.

Sandra, thank you for review and commenting on this. Yes, this is true in far too many families. My hope by sharing this someone may read it that triggers a pause that might just change a bad habit.

Thank you for sharing your moving story. It's a miracle you survived having had alcoholic parents and an austere grandfather. You survived immigrating to a new country. I did, too and find all immigrants are wary of "strangers." What a miracle to enter into God's Family and find no strangers among them.
"more painfilled than fathers." (more pain-filled than Father's) I think a possessive is meant here and since you are using the word as a name, it's capitalized.

Iyenochka, thank you for your validation and recognition through the eyes of being an immigrant also. Your edit suggestion is so correct. I thank you for your reflection.
