What a great entry for the Animal Nonet Poem contest. You had me at your first two lines. Your observations led to some fun phrases describing this adorable critter. I appreciated your author notes as well - 21 species - really? Good luck.

They are quite unusual and not that attractive, but they certainly have a nice suit of armor that will put them in good stead in a fight. I'm learning a lot about animals from these contest entries. Good luck in the contest.

Aww, that such a nice description of them, I think they are so cute. The Spanish name is the cutest thing ever. Haha, nice goal. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this cute poem.

Interesting poem and comments too. Never heard of the small "pink fairy" kind. But I was glad to learn of the various components of the armadillo. Don't we have them in the southwest of the U.S. - ? not sure. Anyway - most interesting.

I have not read about an armadillo in a long time. Your nonet describes one very well and your rhymes make it fun to read. This poem will appeal to all ages. Rod

This is an excellent Nonet as an entry in this contest my friend, I'm afraid to say that I've never ever seen an armadillo, but this is a beautifully written and a beautifully shaped poem, well done, blessings, Roy

A great descriptive nonet about this little fellow who carries his armour around with him and has a prehistoric feel about him. His unique defence of rolling himself into a ball is very clever, I hope he never finds himself on a football field! love Dolly x

A solid nonet, and a very interesting choice of animal. I like that you chose to rhyme. I have just renewed my membership after a lengthy sabbatical. I am liking what I am reading so far. I hope you little armoured one does well in the prompt. Great notes. cheers - DJ
