Hello my friend,
Good entry for the
Potlatch Poetry Club Challenge Cascade. I'm not familiar with the form. The poem is about snowing during Christmas. Good job.

Gypsy, I thank you so much!

I've barely even seen snow but how awful it must have been to be snowed in in this way.
Two small points:
Not a car was too be seen, - typo - was to be seen
There wasn't space start to plow - did you mean 'to start to plow'?
Thanks for an enjoyable poem and good luck in the contest.

Hi Jim. I really enjoyed reading your cascade poem. A nice form. The lines work well throughout. I guess we all remember such big snowstorms which you have expressed so well here. Marilyn

An excellent cascade poem and it is excellently done in history, meter and rhyming. The repeated verses are well positioned. I do remember a storm here as you describe but not the year. I graduated in 67 and my twins were babies so the one I remember was in 74

I remember a snow like that here in the Shenandoah Valley as well... not sure when, I was younger... and snow meant no school and EASY snow tunnels. Nowadays, a snow like that would be the Apocalypse of all Apocalypses in the news.
Enjoyed!

Of course living in Australia, snow is very rare, and if it does it's always on the heights. Of course we do have snow in the mountainous Regions, and I experience sixteen inches in NY, Christmas 2010. Beautifully written Jim, sounds like a real blast. Well done, blessings, Roy,
Typo : Not a car was to(o) be seen.

I can relate to this being I live in northern Indiana. I live about an hour from Lake Michigan and we not only get snow storms but then lake effect on top of that! Our last immobilizing one was 1978. But we had one near that in 2008. Great offering for the club challenge! xoxo

Oh my goodness, is this a true story? The weather can surely cause disruption, and your story here of what happened in sixty-six is atmospheric, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

A nice presentation and aptly illustrated, dear J. My husband and I lived near Niagara Falls for eight years and we saw the cascading snow for days, even weeks!! Thank you for sharing this and my best for the challenge,
Sally :)

Oh, brrr! I am shivering just that making about it. Having to do all that digging just to make a tunnel to get out and seeing the snow still coming and filling it all back in. Time for a blanket, some hot chocolate and a good book.
This is a great entry for then prompt.
