I felt a little disoriented at the beginning; I read your notes at the end and then I got the entire meaning of your poem in here. it is sort of confusing that one word for a beautiful flower can have such such a devastating name.

Thank you for the review. I know it is confusing. That is why I wrote a postscript to explain.

Marjon,
A clever poem that poppies and terrorists can mean
the same thing. Your poem points out characteristics
they share.
Your Haiku tells of pain and death on the horizon.
Both poems are creative and generate imagery for
the reader.
Blessings,
Richie

No one will forget this attack country ranch writer. The whole world has seen with horror what happened on 9-11.
My poem is a horrible fantasy. Thank you for your review.

I had to read your notes and then re-read your poem. Then wow, the meaning hit me. You put into words what many of us feel. Thank you for sharing these sad but true words. And thanks for taking the time to add your notes. I know I will do this in the future. It can make a world of difference. This was a learning moment for this fledgling writer.

I've thoroughly love both of them. Great concept. Great execution. Great use of metaphorical imagery. Just absolutely fantastic. It's amazing where we can get ideas isn't it?

The haiku and the free verse both stand alone, they could be two posts. Philosophically soldiers who fight honourably for their country, (although I don't know how fighting is honourable, especially if one invades another country like Americans do) I don't know how to classify terrorists or mercenaries by anything else but murderers. This is lovely and thoughtful as all your work is Marjon, well done, blessings, Roy

Thanks Roy, for the review. I think about terrorists as the most low and despicable human species. The poem is a horrible fantasy.

Well done
