Excellent story written with creativity about the senseless violence that has spread like a storm of rage and hatred across this country. I agree that the guilty police officers need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. At the same time people need to limit their protests to verbal protests that do not include physical threats or destruction. Bill

I enjoyed reading the story until the end. You had me believe the storm was due to Mother Nature. Would the protesters leave the city to come to
a farm? I'm not sure.

I live in a small town of under 20,000 people in an old farmhouse that is over 100 years old. It was once part of a large farm homestead but is now in the middle of town on a huge lot. We had a protest in our town this week. It did not turn violent, but there were some agitators there that tried to make it do so. So the scenario is possible. Thanks for the question though. And for the review. Stay safe & healthy!

Wow this is totally an unexpected kind of storm, and is more painful than the real storm. You are right, I don't get it why the property of others always fell victim to the riots, they are defenseless witness to this mayhem. What do you get by destroying other people work life and lives, for certainly you don't get sympathy but more hate and anger. Thank you for sharing and stay safe my friend, I am praying for you.

This tells what happens when the storm approaches, how you contacted all, and reached into the gun cabinet and stepped outside to face the approaching storm; well said, well done; enjoyed the read; thanks for sharing this; keep writing. Good luck in the contest. ALCREATOR

born and after their deaths, I'd move >> born and, after their deaths, I'd move
Heavy shutters were closed to protect the ancient wavy glass of the huge picture windows. >> Great line, although all of your descriptions are spot on and very good.
Woah ... Wow . I didn't see this coming, although I new it wouldn't be a physical, weather-related storm you'd write about. Gosh, Sher. this is really good. You were worried abou this? Crazy woman...
Love ya
