we few paid the ultimate price
measure our worth and resolute against the actions we did indeed undertake for the name of liberty,

As the soldiers paid the price with their lives for our peace and safety, so did Christ pay the ultimate price for our spiritual liberty unto eternal life.
God bless.

I like the message ... I think. I say I think because you wrote the essay in one long rambling sentence which makes for a difficult read. I'm not sure why it's posted under poetry.

Here we sleep in death, unbetrayed but honored in name( ), so for you of little faith() and governing powers can keep that peace for which we few paid the ultimate price only a soldier can give, > remove extra space >> add comma before a coordinating conjunction joining independent clauses.

In time our children shall come to understand when and how our fate was changed by the hand of mankind(,) only then can you measure our worth and > Comma splice error. Recommend a new sentence or at the very least a semicolon.

hey
thank you very much for writing and posting this very valuable piece of literature and pleading persuasion
the message is very strongly represented in your work
the image portrayed should send shivers down the spines of all who read and hopefully heed the warning signals and take the wisdom on board
have a smiley day and God bless

The poem is good - a tribute to
the soldier - whoever he may be.

I can't be certain I'm reading this correctly, but I feel it needs a couple of commas to break such a long sentence, so one can take a breath.
What do you think? Just ignore if not in agreement, my friend.

Can we rest from the toils of battle(,) at peace with the understanding that history will show the distinguished who have fallen(,) will live on in the hearts and actions of men who remember the injustice from their past, or will fall victim to events we ignored.

Margaret

The debt we owe those who have fallen in battle, for the sake of liberty, can only be repaid when the actions of mankind insure that no others will have to die for that same cause. Thank you for sharing this fine tribute to the soldiers, known and unknown, who have paid the ultimate price. geo

Hello Deepwater. We have just had 'Anzac Day' in Australia and your writing is so applicable to the memories this day instils. Well written without clutter or spags.

Have a great day, regards Mia

An interesting take on the soul of a soldier; I liked it up to a point. "They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old, age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them' a prayer said at every ANZAC day service in Australia. They died that we may live and we must remember the fallen. Man is a warmonger, he will not change; the beast inside still lives to fight. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Well written my friend.
It's sad how primitive we still are, what animal doesn't fight to kill, we are no exception, we are suppose to be different but our actions are the same, it's going to take some time i'm afraid until we truly grow up and evolve.
I like the way your image blends in with the writing old style. Best wishes Rudy.
