Your contest entry speaks of many things, zanya. There are the dark days of winter, the virus, the unrest/war in many places worldwide, and that of individuals within their hearts. However, you give readers something positive in that the light doesn't extinguish itself totally. Good job on the syllable count, the perfect image, and the color scheme.
Best wishes, Jan

-Nice artwork and
presentation, zanya.
-You have written a good lune.
-Good syllable count and effective
imagery that shows the impact
of a "dark wintry day."
-Effective alliteration and
concluding line, too.
-Good luck in the contest.

You are very welcome.

I love this little lune. It connected with me as I light a prayer candle each and every morning and have done so for years! Some days it does indeed, in your words "fade to a flicker!" Very creative in a short format and great visual choice. Love it!

Superb reveiw zanya
Comment from Jeffrey Mitchell
A candle flickering in the wind trying not to go out, just like our hope flickers from this world. Dark days are the roar of a lion, that echoes in the wind. Great poem, good luck in the contest.

Thanks for reading and reviewing zanya

A very well-written Lune about experiencing the darkness is not always the end of hope and light. We do sometimes experience darkness to appreciate the light more when we get that opportunity again.

'Flicker', is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. I look forward to seeing your next post.

This poem rings true...when nights seem that dark, a candle's only flicker seems to shed little light. Well done, and beautifully written!
Good luck to you in the contest!

Your poem makes me feel that this year is going out with a flicker and the loss of hope that the New Year will not be much better than the last. I'm sure it will be a few more months before we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
