Oh, my goodness, Mary, I can't imagine so many people stuffed into that small space to sleep, and then finding the turkey had worms! It's a good thing you're a fan of Franco American Spaghetti and white bread. I would have gone hungry, I think. So funny! Good luck in the contest.

I enjoyed reading your story. You did a nice job with the prompt. The illustration is humorous and sets the tone immediately. Your writing is clear and feels honest.

Good post for the contest. A wonderful and delightful story of making the best of a difficult situation. It almost seems like it became an adventure for the kids or a part of family lore.

Oh dear, that turkey must have been so old! Or left out of the fridge for too long. What a humorous true story, especially all of you trying to get to the bathroom in time. Best wishes for your entry in the contest!

For God's sake, was this true? You have non-fiction. I had to take a double take. You have a different story. And, the person did not wash the meat. If the person had washed the turkey, with or without worms, they should have not cooked the rotten thing. You have a well written sickening story. Good Luck. And, I do not want you to take this as an insult. It is just sick.
Have a great day, and do not eat anyone's food, except for your own.

I didn't take it as an insult. The turkey was placed in the incinerator. No one ate it! Thank you for the review.

Thanks for the giggles about stepping over bodies to get to the bathroom! And oh my - how long was that turkey unrefrigerated! I'm glad you were so invented to make a spaghetti-O sandwich! Lol. What a memory which deserves to be shared! Best wishes in the contest!

Oh my goodness, how awful! She must have cooked it long before she packed it up to bring to your house. It sounds like you were a little overcrowded, but your aunt was well meaning and at least you were altogether to celebrate, I bet you had lots of fun, I enjoyed your quaint story Mary, love Dolly x

If I had cut open a turkey to find worms inside it, I don't think I'd have been able to eat anything! Not even home baked apple pie! What a truly gruesome story. Thank God I've already eaten my dinner! :-)
