Your skillfully-written poem is lovely, reverent, and vividly descriptive. It conveys a powerful message about the ongoing "climb" to the height of faith. Good use of symbolism

An excellent entry for the Faith Contest. You have used the elements of nature well to provide a subtle metaphor of journeying through life, overcoming, persevering, and climbing ever on and ever upward towards the final destination. Beautifully done. Best wishes for the contest.

Very interesting conceptionally. Good luck with this piece. Perhaps another ribbon? Where in Carolina. We live in Polk County, near Tryon just N. of Spartanburg. And you moved from where?

Thank you Tom for this thoughtful and encouraging review.
We moved to Asheville from PA when we retired from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency in 2005. Our daughter lived there with her family. She has moved a few times since. Once to Rock Hill, SC and we followed her there but her latest move has been to Chattanooga, TN which is lovely but we plan to stay here in the Raleigh area - at least for now. :)))
I have seen the sign to Tryon but I don't think I've ever been there. We do love western NC and the Greenville, SC area as well.
Thanks again Tom.

Another coincident. I was born in the Polish section of Philadelphia, Manayunk,
educated in Trenton and Levittown Pa. Schools. I have a feeling you were likely, again, on the other side of the state. Pittsburgh?
-
You are right - north of Pittsburgh, in Warren County where the Kinzua Dam is located but I lived in Harrisburg for 10 years before moving the NC. Small world. ;)))

it 'tis at that.

Beautiful way to describe growth in faith. Sometimes it is a grueling mountain climb but the faith gained, those mountains are conquered and moved! Loved how you concluded with "claim our destiny!" Best wishes in the contest!

Just lovely. Spacious, open and not heavily laden with the scriptures. A poem that allows breath and healing, serenity and thought.
Nature becomes a part, and its creatures and the wider implications of vast areas, as well the beauty of the scene help us to realize how much God and nature are part.
Bravo.
Well done Janet. Always good to hear from you.
Have a great day.
Best wishes.

Wow! Very descriptive. It makes you see and feel the words. The picture is very soothing. I enjoyed this poem. The last line tied the whole poem and picture together. It truly shows how great God is. Well written.
