Thinks are getting pretty heated in more ways than one in this chapter, Barbara. I'm glad Cord got at least one kiss that wasn't interrupted! lol We'll all be chewing our nails until we learn Pat has been jailed for good. Well done.
A couple of minor spags:
"With the crimes(,) Ali's alleged against him he could..." - move this comma to after 'him'
"He now owners(owns) and managers(manages) the Lobo bank.

Since I was away I had missed two of your chapters.So i read all the three at a stretch. Pat and Luke collude to harm Ali and Roco reached at the right time. Two action oriented chapters were thrilling to read. Amy calling Ali is a sign that she is getting acceptance from the society....Very well done.

Since I was away I had missed two of your chapters.So i read all the three at a stretch. Pat and Luke collude to harm Ali and Roco reached at the right time. It sounds like Ali getting involved in seeing to it the women in this town aren't being being bullied, she had stirred up a lot of trouble with the bad guys.The little town that seemed peaceful had some stuff going on behind the scenes which Ali would like to make right and now Cord's family is in danger. The story is getting very interesting.

I am coming in cold to this so I can't review in context until I catch up. Overall, it seems like an interesting story, you have interesting and varied characters, and the tense situation is palpable. However, the conversation comes across as stilted. It reads as though it is set over a hundred years ago, which doesn't sit well with Ali being a high-powered corporate lawyer. kate xx
