I really enjoyed your poem and I could envision a man who helped to tame the west and was quickly forgotten. But it strikes me as true for so many human beings who live their lives and make only small marks, while they do the work that keeps everything running. Very nicely rhymed.

I'm assuming Calvin was a real person?
Even if he wasn't, I think he was, in your representation, a good example of the mountan men who helped make this country. And I like the cursive in brown "ink" that compliments the picture.

The beautiful thing about life. If you are a good man who trains and leaves children to carry on, whether the world in general ever knows what you may have done. Your children will show them by their displaying the values you instilled in them.

Maybe it's better to not submit a work every day. I see this was written in July. I have a folder of things likewise waiting for a matching contest, but then think I have many friends who are entertained by my releases, so I write everyday. In any regards, I miss reading you poems.

This is a well told poetic story about the many men show helped build the Wild West but never got credit. They gave it live for posterity and died humbly.

That's the case for many: quiet hard-working men and women who quietly contributed to their region or community or their country, received no praise or credit, but were integral to the development of their country.
