I'm one of those people who need to stay busy because if I don't, I will literally fall apart and won't be any good to anybody. My husband isn't handling this well and I am his sounding board, so I need to keep it together. Thank you for the kind review. Thank you for the badly needed prayers.

I glad you could post this before you needed to leave. It sound like your father in law won't last that long. It is too bad they put in the pacemaker because that might make him suffer longer.
I'm glad Cord is with Ali and has medical training. It is apparent they really care about each other. It is amazing how intelligent people can still get caught up in the shame and guilt an abuser heaps on them.

Thank you for the kind review. The took John off life support around 9:00 last night. During the night, my father-in-law came out of his coma and started talking. My husband is on his way right now.

I think it's a good chapter, and the storyline quite clear and runs well. However, I find the dalogue sometimes too constructed and not natural. Also, the story seems to be in the POV of Cordero, but in a couple of instances, it figressed to Bob ( Bob watched as...)
Overall it is a very good chapter

I don't think much of Alan's chances when Cord catches up with him. He's an animal who needs locking up and the keys thrown away. At least being a vet, Cord has some idea of what Ali is suffering from, and the rest will certainly do her good. So many women put up with this, and believe it's their own fault. What is wrong with those types of men? You wrote this very well, Barbara, and it was quite emotional. Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

I don't think much of Alan's chances when Cord catches up with him. He's an animal who needs locking up and the keys thrown away.
