This is an interesting story. The storm brings back memories for me because you might remember I was blown away by a tornado that destroyed my house when I was ten. I've been in storms since then. Another got my daughter's house and another took part of roof mine and blew down about fifty trees. I've also spent many hours in strom shelters. I guess they are bad in Texas too. Emma is a fun character. I like the mystery you are including with the story.

There is some great interaction with the people at the bakery and at the police station. The tornado takes things up a level in tension and in the relationship between Emma and Seth. A storm like that would certainly make me nervous.

Despite what some jealous and overly critical reviewers may say, your writing is very realistic and believable. It is like you are writing about something that has actually happened or is happening rather than fictional accounts derived from your prolific imagination. You are good, very good.

Thank you for the encouragement. I need it. I do have some, especially one who doesn't like my work at all. I have no idea why this person chooses to read me. I guess to voice their opinion. In the US we still have that right, at least for a little longer. I really appreciate you. HUGS!!!

Just continue being you and do not worry about someone bent on being difficult. His shoes are probably on too tight.. LOL.

The pace of your chapter really picked up when the tornado strikes and Seth has to take Emma down into the storm cellar. His presence here is actually pretty calming. He remains calm, and even though the wind is howling and the cellar steps are steep and its not very comfortable, his remaining level headed with even a sense of humor seems to set Emma at ease. estory

Oh no! I was glad that Seth was with Emma and keeping her safe. But he is the chief so when he's called to duty, I guess he has to go. What a warm and caring community!

That's what happens in a lot of small towns, or at least the way it used to be. Thank you for the kind review.

This is an excellent chapter. A tornado is always exciting and adds tension to the story. I look forward to the next chapter. I do not see any room for improvements. Have a bless day.

Those tornadoes must be awful, they seem to to more destructive than even the tempests around the coast and inland, but now Seth has made sure that Emma is secure and will go to check on others taking Ace with him, well done Barbara, well done, blessings Roy

"patron's lined" should be patrons lined since there are two or more of them.

"fur ball got" should be furball got.

"and few other items" should be and a few other items.

"set Molly" should be sat Molly to keep the word past tense.

Seems the Chief has a festering attraction for Emma.

This was great with the storm. I like where this is headed. Seth is the go to fir Emma. And she needs it. I'm nervous about who this creep from the past is. So, I was actually glad this storm happened. At least the creeper had to take shelter. Lol. Great chapter. Gretchen

you are so welcome! I really enjoyed reading it. If I happen to not catch one of your chapters it is because I am not on line some days due to headaches!

sorry to hear about the headaches. I do understand.
reply by Teri7 on 10-Apr-2023
I think they come because our weather has been very topsy turvy lately.

When we lived at Fort Campbell, KY I used to get horrible headaches and I'm sure it was because of the horrible weather switches. Here in Texas, I get them but it's rare.
