Why am I left with the feeling that all will not go well with Emma, now alone in her home? This was another good chapter, with both Emma and Seth jockeying for position. I think you mentioned it before, but how much older than Emma is Seth? He acts as though he's 20 years her senior. A couple of things ...

Emma watched him jog to his place. [This is no biggy, but just a few sentences before you had her jogging for her guitar. It creates a bit of an echo in my mind.]

"Then why you worried? [Is it his speech pattern to leave off the "are"?]

I'll be looking forward to the next chapter and more on the enigmatic driver of the phantom car.

Seth is almost 8 years older than Emma. He has a younger sister same age as Emma. More about that will come out later. He feels the need to take care of Emma. Hmm. Thank you for the kind review.

Hello, Barbara, this is a very enjoyable chapter. I like Seth and Emma. Eventhough I have grown in a time of independent feminist women, I must admit I would like being taken care of. Seth is fatherly and pushy but there's something about him I find very attractive.

Well done, my friend.

Thank you for the kind review. I like being taken care of myself. I raised four boys. Between them and my husband I completely enjoyed being the Princess.

It is so nice to read about two uncomplicated people, who enjoy the company of each other. That they care for each other is obvious to others. They probably know it as well, but refuse to acknowledge it for fear of the complications of having to deal with it.

I love this, with Seth not quite fitting the image that Emma thinks she's attracted to, but somehow I think she may eventually know that she will be. This is a great chapter and effort, well done, blessings Roy

Another lovely read. I guess the Crown driver will re-appear, soon. I like the way you build relationships.

They seem like a good couple and compliment each other. Of course, taking their time is a good thing and building the relationship on daily tasks helps them figure out if they want to go further.
Excellent writing.

Emma has strong belief in her church. Your video is a wonderful example why church is important in their lives. (Allen Jackson is a great singer, too.) Reading about the character's details is a must; besides that's how you get to know the character's characteristics and behaviors.

Very good, Barb. The story is flowing nicely. Just the right amount of the Crown Vic guy in this chapter. Nice Alan Jackson song. I have that gospel album.

I like the idea of the relationship slowly developing. Nice atmosphere with some calm after the storm. I love the wieners roasted over an open fire. Haven't done that since I was a kid. Yes, Emma can take care of herself. Seth is being overly protective. I hope he doesn't overdo it. I'm hoping Emma will find a job right in her hometown. That's where she's happiest. Pastor Pat asks, not askes. Great chapter. judi
