One of your usual, entertaining chapters, with each one, it seems, bringing Emma and Seth ever closer to their inevitable relationship.
After Emma locked the front door, [You should probably space for a scene break before this sentence ... or explain that the couple left.]
I think we'll hear more about Emma's reading class with the kiddies. I was thinking, as I read it, that all it would take is having a car run down one of the children for the township to suffer a horrendous lawsuit, with Peggy being the biggest witness for the prosecution.
Great job!

Good chapter, Barbara. Poor Seth just can't bring himself to admit that Emma is for all intents and purposes his girlfriend, and he can't seem to tell her that his visits will continue because he really likes to be with her. He really is bottled up. I wonder what made him that way? Was he hurt by another relationship perhaps? Will we be learning more about his background? I hope so.
Seth doesn't seem to be trying very hard to see what that Crown Vic is all about. I wonder if he will send one of his guys on a stakeout to find out? Seems like something like that should be done. - Jim

Yes, Seth was hurt. It will come out in pieces. We'll discover more about that Crown Vic. I have corrected the extra 'you'. I changed that sentence as I posted and still got it wrong.

The car is a sign of things to come. It's just as well she knows Seth well enough now to be able to call on him day or night. Yes, it's interesting they've only known each other a couple of weeks. Seems longer. Well done.

That's why I post the lenght of time. It takes so long to post on FanStory that it seems longer. Thank you for the kind review.

Oh these two drive me crazy! They speak at times so proper to each other that it seems unnatural.
There's still a bit of denial between them as we wait for the budding emotions to kick in.
One line confused me a bit, that Seth wasn't sure he trusted Ray -
"Plus, I wanted to make sure you got home safely."
"You didn't trust Ray?"
"I did, but..." Seth hesitated and then pointed to her guitar. "Practicing?"
Cheers,
John

Thank you for the kind review. I don't think they speak proper. Can you point an example out. I attempt to make it very natural dialogue.

Good strong chapter here. I like that you have Emna in a place where she shows she is stronger than everyone suspects. Still very curious about the crown vic. Hope to learn about the occupant soon. I like that they banter but it isn't their only type of communication. Great chapter. Gretchen

Another great read, again. So the Crown driver has nothing to do with the drunk at the bakery? I look forward to more, real soon.
No spags. I am still needing to get my act together and resume writing.

I knew of an old boy one time who made this mistake when we had car hops at A&WROOT BERE stands. She dumped the tray in his lap telling him how the drinks would cool him off.

I like that solution too. I doubt Emma could do that with hot coffee. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

You are dragging this Seth/Emma relationship out. I think you will be okay if they can get together in the chapter or two. It seems like the crown vic situation should be resolved fairly soon.

This is good. I know waitress get harrassed and it isn't just waitresses. A few ago, women have very little they could do about it. I did a waitress job and my girls did as well and we all got harrassed. I've seen get them get harrassed but I've also seen some flirt and encourage it. Anne stood up for herself but she had some help from Seth. He is definitely looking out for her.

In my time I have as I am sure most men have, flirted with attractive females. However, there are levels of flirtation that should never, ever progress to the stage of touching. If the person express genuine annoyance, it is a clear indication that you should cease and direct your attention elsewhere. There is no substitute for good and common sense.
