Wow, Debi... you are such an amazing writer and your authors notes are so helpful... I just loved all of this and the wonderful image you chose.
Images can reveal so much...
Do you ride?
If this was up for a contest I would vote for you!

Hi Lisaview,
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the encouragement.
I don't ride as much as I used to, but it is one of my favorite things to do.
Have a wonderful weekend and best of luck with your writing.

Hopefully the goat will be easier to
manage than the horses. I think this
will be an interesting story, debi.
I hope you are feeling better now.
Have a good day, dear.
Well done, Nancy:)

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for the generous six stars. I guess we will see about the goat.
Thank you for the good wishes. I appreciate it.
Have a wonderful week.

This is another great chapter. She has gotten the fourth horses off the ship without damage to either them or herself. Now it is the goats turn. I hope she remembers to pack some things for herself, like food, something for light, and a blanket, before she lets the goat out. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I love this chapter, Debi. You have me holding my breath throughout most of it, lol. I didn't release it until the other horses showed up.
Great description of the colt leaping in the air. You painted that picture in words brilliantly!
The way you have conversations with the horses seems natural, and makes me think that's what you do with your own horses.
Great chapter, my friend,
Hugs,
Rhonda

Great cool story. Let be how you have the lead character talking to the horses.
The last line is great. Very enjoyable read.
(I've known two people that have had their foot stepped on by horses and both ended up with a broken foot. I do not know a lot about horses but I thought that was the norm?)

Hi Douglas Goff,
Thank you for the encouraging comments about the writing.
As far as a horse stepping on someone's foot, bones can be broken. I can't count the times I've had a horse step on my foot, but I've never had a broken bone as a result. Sturdy leather boots and luck have been on my side. If the ground is hard or paved, and if the horse is shod (wearing horseshoes) it would increase the likelihood of having a bone broken. Certainly, not a good idea to wear open-toed shoes around a horse. I don't let anyone in sandals or flip-flops in my barnyard.
Have a great week.

My goodness - you had me holding my breath, too! Glad that Hermes landed perfectly like a cat. I loved your dressage comment. Although I know nothing about dressage, I could picture it perfectly. And Poseidon got his name, too.
Now I'm wondering about how long that elevator will keep working. Hope there's enough for the goat to eat!

Hi Helen,
Thank you for the generous six stars. I'm glad you liked this chapter and could envision Hermes walking sideways (called a side pass, in case you're interested.) Now, the horses all have names. Only one animal left to go.
Have a great week.

And goats are my favorite! They're more my size anyway and can mow a lawn very environmentally correctly. Lol.

Excellent story. I'll have to search out the previous ones, I think. Very well written and with sufficient but not excessive detail. I'll look forward to the next chapter.
