This cinquain, The Umbrella's Wise Story, has the proper formatting and reminds the readers to distinguish between temporary arguments and the deeper and better feelings which really matter.

This is a very nicely written poem for the cinquain contest entry. I wish you the very best in the contest and may you have a blessed weekend. Patricia.

A metaphorical reality that embraces the fact that we are many, yet one.
We prosper when we embrace others, and ourselves.
A protective web; unseen, yet as powerful as electricity.
Succinct.

I'm under the weather today...
What could be better than this wise cinquain with this umbrella metaphor?
I'm frequently amazed when I'm in distress and come to FS ...
This is the third poem in a row that feels like THIS is why God nudged me, although I am sick in bed, to sign in!
Thank you...and thank God!

Oh that's not good news. I do hope you feel better very soon. But I am glad you have been encouraged a little by FS. Thank you so much for reviewing, even though you are so unwell.

A great interpretation of the image. I enjoyed the sharing quality of the umbrella and the fact that his unselfishness meant that he suffered the pain of the rain. A truly devoted act. And no chance of that happening round here:)) Nicely done in this short cinquain format. Well done and good luck, Wendy! Debbie

Wow!
This a perfect demonstration of love in action.
Except his pipe would soon not pipe at all. (smiley face here)
Good luck in the contest.

Lol. True! But I am sure that within a couple of minutes they have both moved to the centre of the bench, and are sharing the umbrella. Thanks so much for this great review, and for the six stars.Always much appreciated.

This is lovely - and true. No matter how mad I ever am at my Sweet Bobby or he at me, before either of us leaves the house, we always smooch - and not the peck-on-the-cheek kind, either - and say, "Drive safely." Anger is temporary; love for each other is not.
Beautifully done, Wendy, including the adorable artwork. xo

That is wonderful - and I am sure that a minute or two later, this cartoon couple were sitting together in the middle of the bench sharing the umbrella! Lovely review - thank you!

Good one, Wendy! Reminding us that we are human and we may disagree, but true love never runs away and will reach out to protect those we share it with regardless of moment. Loved it!

Thank you Carol. There are many who imagine love is perfect 100 percent of the time. I don't think that is possible! Thanks so much for reviewing.

This piece is rather different from your normal submissions, and the dude should be applauded; however once the offer is accepted the proper thing to do is to share and get him out of the rain.

I think that one minutes later, they had both moved into the centre of the bench and were happy again.
