This poem, Smile, brings the truth to th reflection which, as we know, is not a glass for peering into the soul, but for merely reflecting what we choose to show the world. Important.

Your first line is a winner from the start, Jess! And thus begins the masking so that the mirror's reflection and the artist merge into one. Wonderful artistry concealing all the emotional noise within but, as long as the smile is everything, that's all that matters.... for the moment. Love the imagery of clothes as a shell, very evocative and true. Well done, Jess, and good luck! Debbie

Your poem is evocative and poignant, beautifully illustrating the complex relationship between self-perception and the image we present to the world. The metaphor of the mirror is skillfully used to explore themes of concealment and inner turmoil.
