I enjoyed your poem. I am 58, myself. The only thing is that I've had multiple sclerosis since I was 26. I suffered attacks of blindness ever since my child was born. Childbirth often triggers women to get MS. So I've known my body betraying me since then. Now I've come to view it as God having prepared me for what others are now startled by.

I have learned how to save energy etc. Now that I'm n older it seems like I'm still in my mid 20s. It's been a blessing in disguise.

I watch as my identical twin ages and feels betrayed by her body but, I had a heads up. At 26, I knew the feeling of my body having the power to betray me. At the same time, I've strengthened my Faith that God has the power to see me through things. I've lost my sight yearly for 25 years then I'd have emissions. Ups and downs I've faced with God by my side.

Today I can see and walk. I do not have a negative view of aging because I feel better not worse.

I enjoyed reading and I want you to know, you cab still overcome the changes.

Best wishes,

Alex

    Alex,

Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm sorry for your bodies betrayal so early on, however it seems like you have conquered it. With God by our side anything is possible.

Phew... I just turned 70 on 12/14, but, what's check engine light?

I feel very fortunate in that I have no maladies. Believe me, I'm not bragging as I do I not want to jinx myself.

I like the comparison though of our bodies having a check engine light as your poem details.

Thank you for sharing.
John

    John,

Thank you for the wonderful review. A check engine light is something on a car that comes on when something is wrong with it. LOL

This is a cute comparison of our bodies to an auto check engine light. Sometimes I think my check engine light is on when my blood sugar is up. Then I better check. Excellent write very creative your muse is working just fine.
