That first Christmas without a loved one is always tough, even when that loved one is a child's beloved pet, often a child's first serious experience with loss. The conversation you portray between mother and child is warm and sensitive, Carol - this poignant story is a joy to read. Brooke :-)

I love dogs and stars. This one left me misty-eyed. Touching story, sad and happy at the same time. Enjoyed reading it.

I love this story. It is so hard for children and even adults to lose a beloved pet. This story shows how the child comes to terms with the loss by thinking of her dog as a star that watches over her. The new puppy helps make her day complete. It has a happy ending.

Hello to you,
I really liked the title and the story is cute. I did have one question because I had to go back and look a couple more times but did I miss something-is the puppy Mocha or Max?
Still, it was a nice, uplifting story of love and loss for a little girl or boy and how life does go on and can get better
Nice story
