the message is very clear ,true and equivocate the central truth of human life. each of our life is actually a myth, very much transient, moments passing between our remitting and unremitting consciousness, exploring the world and also the inside of us. as a human being we all like to voice our feeling, of what we passed through, but tragically the voices of commenman is never heard so the lingering hope of the poet that the unheard vioces of our forefathers will pass in the tell-tale act of speech and will become rather modern fable.

I like the point you make here. There are so many things that never get written down. The only place they live is in people's memories. It seems a shame not to write more things down to share with others after we are gone. Great poem.

I really like your thought here. With certain people of a specific political leaning, succeeding at rewriting history, the only way we can pass on our history is by word of mouth. Great expression!

Good question. And like all good questions, we'll probably never know the answer in our lifetime. Well done. Excellent message. Write on!

This poem brings to mind the fine art of storytelling, which is almost a lost art. This is a great reminder to all of us that when an old person dies, a library is lost. We must record their wisdom before it's too late. Great photo.
Blessings,
Jane

It's scarey nowadays because instead of writing things we type things. I know you said about things being spoken and not written but I think typing things without printing is just as bad because once all the memory is gone or the computer crashes everything is gone. I liked your poem and it's a good reminder not to just say things but maybe take some time to actually write things down. I don't think things would be the way they are if people had actaully written things down

Hi Deepwater,
I come from a culture with a long history of epic songs and oral history passed down and along. I found your poem interestign adn thought provoking and often wonder if the twenty-first centruy, with all it's technology will bring an end to the fireside singer and poet.
Very nice poem.

To deepwater,
A very open and honest account of the future and it's up coming generation to come.
You have captured the essence of the poem with depth and clarity of mind of our children of today.
Only time will tell.
Thank you for your acknowledgement of the problems of today that lie ahead of us all.

This touches on my thoughts as well. My son will never hear the stories my grandmother told me. She was a wealth of learning and these new generations will not hear the wonderful and nurturing tales as we have.
