Hi, Mike.
I won't pretend I've analysed and thought deeply about every word of your 'Crown', as to be honest, I haven't the mental aptitude or reading concentration levels at the best of times for long writes, especially today when I've got a stinking headache.
However, I promise I've read it all quickly.
I admit to using reverse syntax myself at times, but maybe in number VI:
'across an ocean's cast' - for maybe more originality, ambiguity and depth (excuse the 'deep ocean' pun LOL), with the upmost respect.
I read the pentameter and rhymes to be perfect, and I really did enjoy the quick read of this SUPERIOR 'Crown'.
Anyone who can accomplish something this exceptional - and I bet there's only a few - thoroughly deserves a sixer in my book.
Good luck, Ted

For only in the deepest tenor's voice
can our soprano soar upon the wing,
and only with inspired freedom's choice
does anybody have the chance to sing
This resonates with me because yesterday at church where we sing acappella I was so moved by the contrasts ...we see light best because we've known darkness...
Well done ...heroic in fact
God bless

This is a wonderful sonnet that smoothly flows in philosophic lines and reflective rhythm. Here is my favourite stanza>
~Like tattered frocks clutched feebly to the chest
of victims wrought by devastating pain
as puppets of a violence home to nest
in doubt our creed will tell us to abstain.~

This is a brilliant and vivid work, I was compelled to give it a six before I was even finished. I enjoy subject matter such as what is found here but never thought to use this form, very nice. I found the few alliterations done with test and that the tone lacked any stuffy pretense or haughtiness. Very we'll done
