Protect the Family Jewels at all cost. When I was in little league and pony league, there was no protection. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. Good luck in your contest.

Yes, yes, protect at all costs... Thanks charlie.
I don't remember having a cup either when I played as a kid.
Thanks again for reading. John

Hi John.
Ouch. LOL A well told funny story of a lesson learned. Forget about nagging, action speaks louder. Great way you used Blaze of Glory. A sure sign of spring, baseball season.

I don't know much about baseball, my son used to play in Little League when we lived there. But I do know how exciting it is for players who shine when they are at the plate. Concisely written, showing the drama of the moment. Good dialogue and touch of humour. Good luck in the contest. Faye

Ha, ha, yeah, that's quite a different take on Blaze of Gory. Good crisp descriptions that really set the scene, and generate an interest right away. The dialogue is realistic, and the ending was totally unexpected, but it was definitely humorous. Good entry for the contest and good luck.

Hi there,
Now this was an entertaining and funny slice of flash fiction. Almost by-passed it due to the baseball billing but glad I didn't.
Well written and eye-wateringly pleasant to read.
Nice job.

Cup sizes for women definitely hold a different meaning. Good old dad, had to do it though. Teach the kid a lesson, but he went down in a 'Blaze of glory.'
Well done John, :-) Good luck in the contest....

Hi jmdg1954. What does one with except 'ouch'? loved the story, though. It seems to me there is no other suitable title for this, alf

Good joke he pulled on his Dad,
and on the rest of the team.
Because he was wearing a cup.
Hence the reason for his laughter.
