Even though this haiku is short - it is so very descriptive.
It's words is short in number, yet - the scene it describes is so complete.
In reading it, I could not help but recall the scenes I've view upon turning over a leaf.
Thanks for sharing this. JW

Hello JW, you understand this haiku so well, that was my intention. I remember as a child, looking under the leaves. I thank you for the awesome review and kind words.

This is a fun and vivid October poem. I enjoyed your detail of looking under a leaf to see bugs' October fest. Your poem is also humorous. Thank you for sharing. I wish you success in the contest.

Great piece that makes perfect sense as the soil covering deteriorates to loam with the help of the insects and is tied in well together. I wish you the best in the contest.

I immediately said, 'I like this one'. So many people think of October in connection with autumn, this one gives it a twist, while still describing features of nature.
Very well done.
All the best in the competition. :)

This is very enjoyable to read, the words create wonderful imagery. I can imagine the critters calling into the Old Log pub and having a right old time. Best wishes for the contest.
Bless you

Ha, this is a very witty and entertaining entry into the October Nature haiku. It seems to me that you have followed all the rules and we get a very clear picture of exactly the scene you are painting.
Best wishes to you in the contest. This is a fun one.

This creates such a lovely vision of critters enjoying October, as if it was October fest, but us humans go for the beer. Read your author notes, and they're a lot of rules to follow. You did a magnificent job! Les

The critters take their resting abode beneath the fallen leaves to get their essence of life. This will gone till the end of October. Good musing.
