Do you have a parrot? I love birds, and all animals. We have three dogs, and I wouldn't mind having a bird but I'm not sure it's a good mix with cattledogs (who are into chasing small creatures). I found this to be a fascinating read. I always thought I could be a bird person, if I hadn't gotten hooked on cattledogs. Nice job, Mikey, I really enjoyed this :)) Carol

yes birds are a lot of work but anything worth having is worth taking care of it. animals are like newborn children we didn't ask for children but they still have to be nurtured and taken care of

I had a parakeet who lived quite old. I don't remember how old, but I got him as a child and was well into adulthood when he died.
You covered all these birds in good detail. It's an article anyone about to purchase a parrot must read.
I raise box turtles. (Don't laugh). They will live much longer than I could ever hope to. I also have a pond turtle who is estimated to be AT LEAST 85 years old. As one son said, they'll become family heirlooms. LOL.
-macaw[,] exceeding it by a little bit
-once they are gone[,] to put it indelicately.

I was hoping you would do one on parrots. I have always wanted one but when I read how long they live, I did not want to think of him going to someone else. I did that with ferrits and regretted my decision. This was very informative.
