Thanks , we learned another new word today. I also got the subtle innuendo on the current political affairs happening in America which is just one side of the truth based on what political persuasion you belong to. There is another truth from the other side of the aisle. But the only absolute truth is the standard of God and when an official is not afraid to mention God and Jerusalem, the blessings of the Lord is with him. I enjoyed reading your poem. Very well done.

That was so funny, Craig, I was worried you'd get some stick from the pro Trump camp! It started off brilliantly, and got better as it went down the page! A laugh a second! Well done, I really enjoyed your poem. :) Sandra xx

Thanks very much, Sandra, for the great review. Why would I get in trouble from the Trump camp? This is about a fictitious Spanish ship captain ;-)
Glad it gave you a laugh - Craig

Hi Craig. First a splendid word today and a wonderful satire on the ole dumpster too. I don't think I've ever disliked a political idiot as much as the current Don. Your piece has good symmetry, rhymes and flow. I loved every word AND the word of the day. Must get around more often as I'm missing reading your work. Take care. Hope all is well.

Thanks so much, Deborah. I'm very glad you popped in - I miss seeing your comments. And I especially miss them when they're as lovely as this, and accompanied by shiny stars! We have another kiwigirl of some note on our shores at the moment - and I feel I should be the one to break the bad news. You're not getting her back. She's going to become the next PM of Australia. I'm personally going to deliver the citizenship papers to Canberra tomorrow . Most grateful - Craig.

Jacinta is an amazing Prime Minister. She gives as good as she gets and even being younger is to her advantage, but then all one has to do is look at the current PM of Australia and simply sigh! Who wouldn't want her? She maze balls great! xx

Good job with this one. The rhyming scheme is very smooth and flows right from the start to the end. You have also managed to tell a tale throughout the poem, which was great.

The rhyming and flow and beats were super smooth through this poem. Cutting wit and snark aligned with your theme, along with relevant references. ... It's hard to make fun of someone in a fresh way when they make themselves such a caricature, I think this was well done.
'cause just like he tells it, his charms know no bounds.
(I like how you used the sense of this being 'as he describes' It does well to bolster the lack of his actual charm)
but Don always knows where to get him some ass.
(eww.)
and Don Cacafuego will help get us there.
(personally, I would prefer he take a private yacht and get his grubby paws of the main wheel, but alas...)
Nicely done with this, Craig... I enjoyed reading.
I'm trying to reshift my todo list again. I don't know what happened, but it's like I jinxed myself by taking on one too many things and I miss getting the time to review your poems.

Well, in case you think otherwise, I do miss you being around here more - both as a reviewer and an author. But that said, we have to get our priorities right, and if there are more important things that need to get done, then that's the way it is. I know you've got a pretty full plate.
Many thanks for the lovely review, Turtle. It's hard to say how much it means that you like my stuff.
It's funny, it's only an hour or so ago I discovered a post you made in the music thread. I made a comment, and here you are! If that works, I'll have to keep my eye out more often :)
Cheers,
Craig

I'm thinking Senor Cacafuego would love this poem given that it paints him in a heroic light. You capture a lot here - the Dreamworld he lives in, the fake news we should pay no attention to, the wall, the Muslims, the brave hero running unarmed into danger (provided his bone spurs don't act up).
Good writing and good satire.

This piece was just hilarious to me, and I loved your idea of building a piece around some obscure word each day. In this one, the rhyming was spot on. Will you do a different type of poem/story on each work? If so, it could make a fun anthology. I see nothing to correct here!

Hi John, Yes, I started on 1st Jan, so that's nearly 60 already (and only 300+ to go - yikes!) They won't be unique, as I don't know how to write 360 types of verse, but I am mixing them up. Most grateful for your review - Craig

Well said.
Your well rhymed and well written poem is a good mock.
It really tells what is wrong with the Cacafuego in charge.

I knew what it meant as soon as I saw it... got a good laugh. Caca means shit in Ukranian too, but it's a noun and not a verb. And of course fuego is Spanish for fire. Cacafuego is a great word to use when you don't want to SAY what you want to say. THANKS!

Thanks for the fun review, Phyllis. It seems many languages recognise the importance of caca :)

I love the picture and had visions of pirates. What a crazy word. The beginning of the word, "caca" reminds me of the french word for poop lol! I loved your rolling meter. I can't picture Trump running in to save anybody.

Well he would, because he told us so! Caca seems to be universal - the word too ;-) Much appreciated, Craig
