I love the quote, that would suit me just fine! lol. What a lovely poem in tribute to Omar Khayyam, a genius way before his time. Yet, was he? So many amazing people lived a thousand and more years ago. Well done, I enjoyed both the poem and your author's notes. :) Sandraxx

Beautifully rendered poetry set to rhyme that flows down the page flawlessly like a silky smooth wine that you recall long after the last vistages of this rare exotic has passed through your system.
Well done and good luck

I like this poem, although I had never heard of the person before. The poem flows and it does provide thought. I like the way it brings out the things the man did and his love for wine. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes the heavens conspire to inspire
A poem to pull me from life's muck and mire
Required thus, writer of knowledge and wit
And here you are weaving the sense of it!....
A rhyme and verse that coaxed from me a smile
, a muse, amused, with satire and guile!
Six stars dear man, if only there were more!
Poetry grand! A joy forevermore!
:) :) :) :) :)

Well goodness me, my heart is glad anew
Receiving such a wonderful review
I really want to take the chance to say
You words of kindness have quite made my day
And even this response is far too terse
for such a witty comment'ry in verse
My sense of gratitude could not be keener
With all my heart, I thank you Karenina
:)
Most appreciated!

Comment from Gloria ....
This is truly a wonderful good romp in celebration of the gift of grapes. And the new word so adeptly intertwined with the others one wouldn't even know he'd been imbibing.
I drink, therefore Khayyam is exactly right.
Slainte. :)

Hello, a very nicely written poem for a great mathematician, writer, and astronomer. I remember reading about this man in history at school. My favorite subject apart from literacy. I don't have any suggestions for making your poem better, you tell all the facts in a poetic fashion and the picture is great. Thanks for honoring a great man, Ana.

An excellent tribute to Omar Khayyam, especially that cleverly worded final line which made me smile. Thank you for the notes that add the backstory and give additional meaning to your well written verse.

A masterpiece write in simple down to earth vocabulary dedicated to a great philosopher/poet; the rhyming is amazing and the last stanza is dynamite!
