Oh and she's playful, too! What a gag - you played it not only on your main character but also on your readers. That puts us on our toes with this interesting and mysterious woman!

Thanks for your continued reading, Helen. I'm beginning to wonder what she'll come up with next!

Well written, Tony. Love the conversation.
For example,
"Shaken, not stirred, Mr. Bond?" she teased. "I believe that's how you take it?"
"I don't know about that," I replied. "You certainly stirred me up, and I couldn't have been more severely shaken."
Agist of humor, too. Well done.

A very well-written chapter and a playful lady to make Charles think she is holding a gun in his backe, and fainted instead of defend himself against the lady that tricked him with his own toothbrush.

This intrigue is set in the most amazing place Paris. I love reading it for the story and the Frenchness. I studied French in high school and college but I have never been to Paris..I'd love to go to Versailles.
Well, penned I'm on the edge of my seat

I appears the two are warming up for a romantic adventure. He is certainly attracted to her, but she is putting him off. Time will tell. They will have a picnic while they attend to the task at hand. Well done Tony. :) Nancy

Thanks for your continued reading, Nancy. They certainly do seem to be dillydallying along the way. I'm curious to see what they find out in Versailles - if anything!

The scenes with Helen playing you, manipulating you and toying with your emotions were well scripted. Great descriptions put us right there; we feel the pain when she puts Vodka on the cut; we feel the shock when she sticks the electric toothbrush in your back; we feel her hands caressing and softening you up. Still an air of mystery; why is she so interested? The light spring day lifts up the mood in the background. The suspense pulls us from chapter to chapter. estory

Thanks for your continued reading, estory. I'm so glad that you are finding the descriptions vivid. Yes, there certainly doesn't seem to be much about Charles to interest such a woman. Surely there must be some hidden agenda. Although he's allowing himself to be led by the nose, or maybe by a lower appendage, I hope he's not a complete fool!

A nice bit of fun and games in this well-written instalment. there's definitely more to this lady than meets the eye though... lol
bathroom to dampen a face flannel - you could omit 'face' here.
I, of course, would have melted in you manly arms." - your.

Yes, she's an enigmatic lady, to be sure. I can't help feeling that she must have some hidden agenda. Although Charles is allowing himself to be led by the nose, or maybe by a lower appendage, I hope he's not a complete fool!
Many thanks for the two catches - appreciated.

Even Bond once drove a Citroen deux chevaux or was it a renault to distruction in one of the movies so exotic cars are not a requirement of the genre. Held to ransom by an electric toothbrush though, now that is so unbondlike. Surely Q would have incorporated a lethal stiletto into the device.
Why does one not meet women like this in real life?

Thank goodness Q hasn't got at my electric toothbrush. I find it lethal enough as it is! As for women like Helen - I'm having enough trouble with her as a work of fiction! Not sure that I could handle her in the flesh - so as to speak.

At least she should have sweet smelling breath.

Our hero doesn't appear to be much of a hero, he faints at the slightest threat, from the attractive young lady, with the electric tooth brush, heheh, instead of a Lamborghini Charles has a Fiat 500" heh, heh, as depart for Versailles. Well done Tony, good episode, blessings, Roy

Thanks for your comments, Roy. I'm enjoying making the character of Charles a bit of an anti-hero!
