So now he gets the real reason for this mission, revenge. I do hope they'll take the ransom money and let Hellen go. Your chapter is well-written, interesting, believable. I look forward to reading more.

A very well-written chapter. We do not know if vengeance will bring any closure to the cause of circumstances but sometimes we need to bring justice to balance everything out again.

Hello Tony,
Dogs have a good sense about people. They can smell a rat in spies clothing.
Interesting views on death. Every society has developed their own ways of dealing with the unknown. Flying free, guided by faerie folk is a pleasant thought.
It seems two sisters are determined to have revenge, maybe two squirrels will fair better than one.
And what if Zemar demands US dollars :)
Excellent chapter

Nice job with this chapter. There was a sharpness, a tension in the air from the outset, with that hushed conversation between Kayla and Mozama, and then the dog biting Ash, seemed like a premonition of trouble to come. Lastly, came that eerie walk through the graveyard, where in the conversation between Kayla and Charles, we learn of the motivation behind Kayla; a need to avenge the death of her parents. She's only in with Jeanne Durand as long as it is convenient. I like how her emotion comes out in descriptions of her face and in the charged dialogue. Also great descriptions of the eerie graveyard, with the dead fruit lying on the ground. estory

An exciting episode this. The dog was only marking its territory, a bit it had not come across before. If you know from experience what a million euros or dollars actually looks like, I think I shall stay close to you. Or was that just an elegant mathematical calculation.

Thanks, Jim. I did a bit of research on Google. Using the largest denomination US note, you can only fit one million in a briefcase. That?s why the euro is apparently the drug runner?s currency of choice. Europe has now withdrawn the 500-euro note because of it, but they still have a 200-euro note. Two million euros would weigh 4.4 Kg - a bit too heavy for hand luggage! I doubt I?ll ever be faced with the problem!

And I thought you might be a useful person to get to know!
