It is amazing how seeds and roots manage to survive these holocausts. A hillside of bracken was burned black last spring, with no vegetation apparent. By midsummer it was deep in new growth as if the fire had never been. The pity of it is that for animal life, even amoung invertebrates, this is not true and, from what I hear there is a chance that many species will be be totally lost to Australia.

Very well said in this lovely poem about faith. The resilience of Australia and her people will shine forth in the coming days and months. A very good entry for this prompt, Lisa.

Amazing photo! It is indeed a faith-filled poem, full of hope, full of life, full of promise. This is very encouraging, considering the current dire situation in Australia. You have used rhyming words and wordplay to create beauty here.

LisaMay, this is absolutely beautiful! The descriptive words are so picturesque, conveying the courage the people of Australia to be determined to not let the wrath of the fire be an ending but instead a new beginning!

Yes, life does have a way of renewing itself. I've seen the fires in the news and I feel terrible for the people and animals who have lost so much. I can only hope they will soon be out and healing can begin. Good luck in the contest.
