Thank you for writing this Christmas story for children. I am sure they
will love it. Children love having animals as characters in books and
they also love rhymes. As a kindergarten teacher, I would read a story
and stop for them to fill in the rhyming word. It helped them learn
rhymes.
I like the line, the donkey arrived....he carried a lady who needed a bed.
Here in California, we live in a canyon where wild donkeys live. They
have been coming into our neighborhood and walking down the road
looking for something green to eat. I watch them walk so slowly and
wonder how long and hard that ride on the donkey must have been for
Mary.

Thank you so much for this lovely review of my children's Christmas poem, I'm delighted you enjoyed it! And a hugs thank you for the golden star!
That is something I've never thought of before. Donkeys are expected to do so much, and yet they don't get appreciated as much as they should do. Perhaps it's time for me to write one about this special Christmas animal. Thanks again, my friend. Warm hugs, :)) Sandra xxx

What a great Christmas poem and a lovely way to tell the Christmas story. And nice that the mice had a positive part to play for a change. That doesn't happen too often. lol

This is a good one, Sandra, just right for little children. This is just the right length for a bedtime story. It has good rhyme and meter, which is important for youngsters.

What a delightful story in a poem, Sandra. I loved reading it. The pictures are precious. Your lines flow smoothly and create great imagery. I could see all of the animals working together to make their barn home ready for Jesus. I like how each of them did a special job, but in the end it showed teamwork. Your rhymes work well, there's good flow, and the imagery is awesome. This would make a great children's book. Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Such lovely artwork. I love it. What a nice Daddy Mouse to tell his boys the story of Christmas. It's a wonderful story with the cow, the sheep and the nice all helping out to make a cozy place for the Baby Jesus. The cow, the sheep, and the mice all pitched in, with the cow cleaning the stable, the sheep providing wool, and the nice helping with the hay. They were all so proud to be helping. Excellent rhyme. judi

I really like this cute Christmas story. I'm sure children will love to hear it read to them, too. I'll have to see if I can find the others and read then too. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

I enjoyed this poem. We were bemoaning the fact today that the very young are not having their memories and understanding correctly developed. This hits two nails on the head: the reasoning behind Christmas and the mechanics of writing poems. A fine piece of work.
