Like the chapter. Meth has become a huge problem so your story brings back a reminder of why it's important to stop the spread of meth. Great and knowledgeable chapter.

This is another excellent chapter. I wonder if this is like a Hallmark movie. When the kissing happens, it will mark the end of the movie.I do not see any time for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for the kind review. The kiss will happen, before long actually.

I'm enjoying the much less inhibited relationship between Seth and Emma. And of course the gentle humour. They're such a great example of a loving, considerate couple which makes this a very pleasing read. A new subplot with the science teacher is intriguing and seems to be an opportunity for Seth to join the dots in his investigation. Small edit: "Seth('s) eyes met hers." Well done on another excellent chapter, Barbara, and congrats on approaching the last stage of your book launch. Take care Debbie

Very well crafted. I think when looked through the lens of Spiritual Fiction or even religious fiction, most things make sense, like a Hallmark movie. The only thing I would caution against, is: This is small town, as we are told. Yet, look all the things that happen in a single month. Also, you mains interact multiple a day every day. Is that likely in real life. So many (such things) in a month? Now there's a meth lab too, and someone (a teen) trusts Emma (after 1 month) so much they would nark.

notes:

As Jacob watched and laughed, Emma faced him and frowned. "I'm not sure about this.["]

Thank you for the catch. I have added the quotation marks. If I drew it out longer the novel would take too long. The suspension of disbelief comes into effect here. Also, things do happen in small towns, probably not as often, but do happen. Thank you for the kind review.

I don't mean, draw it out longer. If you have two scenes, they don't have to happen in two days. They could happen in six days, with the idea that life happens off screen. Like most new or beginning couples or people do not see each other every day. And relationships/ bonds do not form in a single month.

Also, there are too many people attracted to Emma is so small of a time, with little to no reason. Recently a Marvel/ Disney show (Ms. Marvel) made the same mistake, where every guy had a crush on the average looking protagonist girl, and most people adored her. The writers were laughed at about that. They 'jumped the shark'. Which led to the TV show and movie (The Marvels) flopping.

A while back you wrote, if Emma is so pretty why aren't more guys after her. HMMM. In these types of novels things need to happen in a short period of time, that's the style. I'm writing a novel now, where I'm spreading it out over a few months. I'm not sure how it will play. My publisher will let me know. I won't post it for probably close to a year out. I already have another novel, I'm posting after this one, and starting it I think Wednesday.

Pretty sure that wasn't me. I don't know if Emma is pretty. We are told that, but never shown that. Is she 5'11 or 5'2, does she have curves or is she a model thin, long or short hair, full lips or non-existent, a flat butt or a bubble? We don't know. She isn't really described physically, just her emotional and intellectual features are highlighted. But that's understandable given your writing style. I'm more likely to ask, why any man would want her, given her, let's call it, sexual and loving restrictive nature. I'm the guy would say, 'No sane man would put up with, getting nothing from a woman in 2023 or 2024.'

LOL. Just kidding. I know how your what your focus is, and not. It's rare, but it is possible even in the day.

Hmm, yes it was you, I checked, and yes we do know that Emma has long copper colored hair and mostly wears in a braid. She's short and has a wonderful figure. All of this came out in the first few post. Seth was also described.

It sound like something big is going on with the police department. I'm glad Seth an Emma are officially datings and she considers it serious. Congratulation on your book you'll have published soon. That is exciting.

Glad you have another novel coming out. I will be watching. My daughter will also be glad. You have built this current story within a peaceful atmosphere no doubt a small town tucked away from reality.
