Now, you can be yourself with us. I'm glad you have come out of the cupboard. You are soft and emotional, lonely but now have a companion to share the hours with. Have you been diagnosed with dementia? If not, don't take it on, it is soul-destroying. Bravo Jesse.

Hello Jesse,
One of your best posts. I see happiness in your words and freedom.
They say truth will set you free; one thing it will differently do is make you feel better about yourself and that is a gift of great worth. Having someone to support and who supports you in turn puts extra meaning in life, and a strength that is doubly strong.
Dementia comes in many forms; I have friends and relatives that have dealt with it, and I know support is crucial. You appear to be in a good place.
There is an aura of peace in your well written biographical story. It seems the balance beam is in perfect harmony.
Best wishes to you and David, my friend.

Wow, Robert. I am so taken aback by your poetic verse even while reviewing my work! I am honored by your captivating words and the six stars, my friend!
An aura of peace is where I want to be and believe now to be with the support of friends like you and David's love.
Take care,
Jesse

I'm glad you are back. I hope your health is good.
I'm sorry that reading is difficult for you.
As for coming out, I don't know that it matters on FanStory. I have no idea about (except those who have stated whatever) anyone's status. It just doesn't matter when I am reviewing their writing or being reviewed.

Yes, living the life that's intended for you to live is not a sin, and neither is being gay.
I'm sorry you both have the onset of dementia, and I have to add how odd and unusually coincidental it is that you both suffer from this disease, Jesse.
I wish you both a long and inspiring life together, my friend. Best, JohnC

Hi Jesse, a heartfelt story of love and friendship. Yes, you and David have many challenges to face in the upcoming future. Luckily, you have each other. Just sharing ... a friend of mine used to say that she and her partner complimented and complemented each other, especially as they got older. What she couldn't do, her partner could do, and vice verse. I think that you and David will soon find times like that. Of note:
He brings out the best in me and the worst in me.
(I think this is common with most couples. They help us see the best of ourselves as well as our other part which may not be flattering.)
David, I have been reading through the lines, and I thought that you and David were friends and lovers. Congratulations on sharing that. The feeling must be so freeing.
Your road ahead will be a bumpy one, but where loves exists, anything is possible. Well done, beautifully stated. Margaret

Love is the glue that keeps us together and helps us through the most difficult times in life. You and David are faced with challenges, but your positive attitude will guide you through it. I wish you well. Cherish each second because time has a way of claiming our lives sooner than we ever expect. Happy Valentine's Day to you and David! Enjoy!!!
Smiles and hugs, Carol

I'm absolutely delighted for you, Jesse! Happy Valentine's Day to you and David! I've wondered about your relationship since you wrote so passionately about your new-found love but haven't dared to ask in case things hadn't worked out. But this acknowledgement is all very gratifying to hear because your happiness shines through your lovely words. Yes, there are issues to address by way of dementia and that can seem scary depending on how advanced it is with David. But, as long as you have a support system and, basically, do as much as possible to prepare, then life has a habit of working out for us. And also there will inevitably be tensions and disputes but who doesn't have them? I'm not meaning to belittle the condition because I know it can be challenging but, as long as you both love each other, I'm sure you'll find a way through. Thanks again for sharing your truth with us. Take care Debbie

This is such a positive tale. I commend you for your support of David as he struggles with dementia. I work on a dementia unit in a nursing home so I know a little of what you are both going through. Anything in life can be dealt with when one has another to be there and support him, a strong point you make clearly. I wish you both the best.
