I don't know about Emma, but all that attention she's getting would make me feel worse. Maybe she just needs to work things out for herself. Now there's the problem of the teenage boys who drank themselves unconscious. Wonder if they're youths Emma know? More complications to the story. Emma certainly has had a lot to deal with, and the death of her father on top of everything else. That's the way life is sometimes. You've presented this in such a realistic manner. Great work. judi

Thank you for the encouragement. The after the funeral Emma mentions being treated as a child.

She's going to end up a different person from what she was at the beginning. So much has happened to her. judi

This chapter gets the six this week, your other book will have to wait! LOL This was a really good chapter, so much has happened in Emma's life recently, it's no wonder she can't eat. I just wish I had that problem! I didn't realise this was over 2000 words, it didn't seem it. I'm hoping the service will go well, it's hard to deal with when it's a loved one.
Now what is it with those boys? And those girls, there is something might strange happening here. Can't wait to hear what the boy's story is. Another great chapter, Barbara, Well done. :)) Sandra xx

Death doesn't happen in a vacuum, I felt we needed a reminder. LOL Thank you for the kind review.
-
No, it doesn't. I've lost too many to know that. You're most welcome, my friend. xx

An outstanding chapter, Barbara. Seth is moving slowly, on shakey ground, with Emma. He's helping her with the past as well as her future but knows better than to press. Awesome! And mixing in his police work blends so well. Love it!

This is a sad time for Emma. I remember when my first child died, I was unable to get any food down for several days. Deep grief does something to you system an food nauseates you.

Please don't let it end! This story is becoming habit-forming! Oh, by the way, I love that name, Ronald Calhoun. I see Rory's face every time I red it. I'm not trying to be aq smart aleck, but this story is perfect writing, so please let me point out two small typos:
Seth chuckled. "It was your imagination. The closing quotation mark ended up on the following line. also:
Emma cuddled in closer. "I don't need you stay, but I'd like you to." I believe the word "to" is needed.

Thank you for the kind review. Thank you for the catches. I always appreciate help.
-
I can't help it! Everyone catches my big mistakes but me! How come I can spot tiny little errors in others' writings! It doesn't make sense!
-
Yes, it does. You're reading ours with fresh eyes. We're reading ours multiple times and don't notice the errors.
-
Thanks for making me feel better. I could never be a critic!

Great chapter, Barbara. Seth is trying to help Emma face what's ahead of her as well as what's behind. Meanwhile, Seth has police work to deal with, some of which Emma overhears.
Though Emma and Seth wanted him to stay, at one level, he did the right thing and left.
Great job,
Rhonda

As always, another good chapter. Pastor Pat seems to play a vital part in this story. I can understand the food not tasting good. Nothing seems that way to me either. Good one Barb. Just wondering where this is going.
