Oh it is just wonderful.

I loved the poem. It is so real and hear felt.
It flows smoothly and makes sense form beginning to end and I did not see any needed changes.

My husband is a Vietnam vet and I understand all of what you are going through. He took 30 years to admit he had some issues with the memories. He is no getting help dealing with them and has been diagnosed with PTSD. He is doing much better and smiles a lot more. God Bless you and Your Hubby.

Thanks, Jeanette

Thank you for your kind words and review. Your poor hubby! I feel that of all the wars experienced in recent times, Vietnam would have to be the one that has left more trauma in the hearts of its vets than any other. As my hubby had been in the Navy for 20 years prior to going to Iraq, he had all those years of training and expertise, coupled with a pragmatic attitude, which helped him survive it and not be left with too many issues. That's not to say it isn't still a touchy subject for him though, and always will be. My heart and thoughts go out to you and your hubby, and I'm glad he's finally being able to deal with what must have been terrible moment in time for him. Blessings to you both xoxoxoxoxo

This war has become very similar to the one of my time -- Vietnam. My husband is a disabled vet and I know the sorrow he has carried for all these years. This is a lovely tribute to your hero.

It is well written and flows well. I found nothing to correct.

Thank you so much brightside. It'll possibly be a little bit before I can show him this, but hopefully he'll see it in the spirit it's intended. My heart goes out to you and your hubby. Vietnam vets have a truly horrific, but valuable, story to tell, if only they could...

I wrote something similar for my husband and, even after so many years, he cried. It's great that these men want to defend our freedom, but war does something horrible to those who have to fight it.

A touching and thought provoking verse. Nice flow, good structure and I find nothing to critique. Nice tribute to 'your Glen.' Loved the picture. ann

This is a beautiful tribute poem to a man who did his best to help those in need in spite of the times of the day.
You have said it well and have shown your love of this person in every line. Have you let him read it? He should know how much you care for him.
Your poem has great movement and rhythm. The meter is smooth and makes this a good poem to read.

Thank you so very much fluffy (hope you don't mind abbrev.!). No, I haven't shown him yet. He's very protective of his time in Iraq and I almost think he'd be a bit p-d off with me. I'll let the dust settle a bit, then maybe show him. Thank you again for your warm and encouraging words xoxoxoxoxo
