Oh Jimi, I'm so sorry for your loss. This would have been an excellent entry in the "Faith" contest. Your pacing was very effective with your little prayers coming in and out throughout the piece. The ending was so poignantly rendered. I'm assuming this is true. An excellent poem.

Hi jlsavell,

The artwork certainly grabs one's attention and your beautifully written poem a perfect depiction of heartfelt grief of one who has lost the love of their life. I especially liked the prayer within the verses. Thank you for sharing.

Beautifully written and as you said
some things lost can never be retrieved.
There is a saying I read once that maybe
you never get over this loss of a loved
one, that in time you find a way of carrying
it as gently as possible. You are a pure
and very talented poet.

This is a good poem mourning the loss of the beloved one. The fact that he died being no longer here is revealed in the end as a sad element of surprise.

Jimi,

a very strong and emotional writing, dear friend. Excellent descriptives provide us vivid imagery and create a smooth flowing poem.

I have to admit the sudden appearance of another man startled me a bit. Was the other man intended to signify your character had moved on? I have such difficulty understanding most poems. HOpefully you'll be kind enough to overlook a dumb question from me, every now and again.

Well done, Jimi

Reggie

Wow! What a poignant, moving write you've shared with us about the death of a lover. You don't know how that feels until you have to go through it, I suppose, and Lord, is this is true, where was I? I should have been here for you.

Love, peace and grace~

This is a sad poem which tell us about feelings of abandon,
then, how time heal the pain and a leave a rose to honored the past love. A wise attitud to rescue the best of something that now is in the past.
Congratulations!

I know that pain, too. Your grief comes through with painful clarity. You describe your missing him and needing him with great skill.
