Sasha,
I'm am crying buckets of tears as I write this review. This is the best essay or biography story you've EVER Written. Exquisite art work you've used. So deserving a score of six. Exceptional writing so emotional and poignant. The past is horrible for you. But like the phoenix your reborn anew. It's a blessing in disguise you and your mother found each other the last three years of your life. The saying 'what doensn't kill you makes your stronger' should be your motto. Brilliantly written for the contest. I be this one wins my a land side. It gets my vote for the best in the contest. This essay should win story of the month in my opinion. You are a talented writer and artist, my friend. . .Melissa.

this is so true, and I loved the character and how you wrote your story, no errors and no revisions, a true scrapbook without glue, hope you get lots of votes, and will be looking for the winner.

Hi Sasha,
Oh my, the words to express how your story makes me feel are hard to articulate. How well, I can relate. I felt your hesitation at writing your story, the desire to sweep your past from existance, and the need to fulfill your mother's last wishes.
Your mother giving recognition to your being wronged was your ticket to becoming free and what more beautiful and deserving gift could a mother possibly give. It is a gift I am thankful that you have received.
I am so glad that the two of you were able to resolve the rift of your past and to move on in your relationship.
You have written an exceptional story and one which I am so pleased to have read. You have inspired me to write my story as well. Thank you so much for sharing and helping me to heal. The stars are yours, but your story is worth so much more.

I encourage everyone to write their story. I cannot begin to adequately describe how healing it was for me to do. Thank you so very much for the wonderful 6 stars. I am sincerely grateful.

Valerie, I didn't think it would be possible, but this is possibly the best thing you have ever posted. What can I say that others haven't. Powerful, wonderful, I could go on and on. I want you to know that you also have a family on Fan Story who loves you and wishes you well. God bless. Marilyn

Thank you so very much and yes, I agree, I have a wonderful and caring family right here on FS. I am so pleased you liked this one despite its dark nature. The 6 stars are greatly appreciated too.

Hi Valerie:)
I also read and enjoyed reading about your rebirth. Everyone should be so lucky in shedding any darkness in their past. Like you I lost creative years lamenting a dark past. I used to hide it, but now I exult it as someting I rose above and left behind.

Dear sister, this is deeply touching, heartwarming, uplifting and also outstanding in the way you crafted your story and delivered a message of healing and rebirth of love. A poignant theme---and your relationship with your mom reminds me of my own with my father.
SO pleased that you, too, could come to a rebirth with her and that you are following her wish to WRITE YOUR STORY.
You write it well.
This is surely a strong contender for the contest (and for my vote, but have not yet read all entries).
While the paingulf past and trsnformation is touching, the highlight of the work is your lovely closing-
I may be blind in one eye, have a doctor who attributes my ailments to old age, fall down occasionally, and walk like a duck. But believe me when I tell you, I am, and always will be, a child at heart and am finally able to enjoy the beauty and joy that surrounds me every minute of every day. I am truly happy, what more could I possibly ask for?
Love that! And also that your home is your scrap book.
Love, rd
PS Did not notice any sapg, but read only once and could have missed any typos. Just did not feel to put on spag specs for this one.

"Rebirth" is such a beautiful and heart warming story. Sad in some ways from those earlier years, but overall joyful at the way you've handled adversity and survived and even better, are happy now. You said it, young at heart!

Valerie, you did it again. What a blessing to know that someone has overcome the horrors of the past. I'm so happy you have found joy. It's amazing, your life was rotten compared to mine and yet, you have the joy. I'm still trying to find it.
One error: I did finally have put together a scrapbook...
Love your poem. It speaks volumes. Well done, pat
