Quick thinking by the nurse. Nice work. Good intensity and emotion in the scene. Good dialogue and a very enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing.

This is an excellent offering. It
kept my attention word by word.
Domestic violence is insidious. Over
time the victim can come to believe
that the abuse is "normal". Great job.

I come from an ex marriage of abuse and know the fears all to well. Your story was descriptive enough and closely accurate to what alot of the stronger women would feel. Nicely done.

This part of chapter 4 gives a true picture of the brutal husband. Having a strong-willed nurse and a considerate social worker on the job is vastly encouraging. You've written this post very well, Barbara.

It was a short post, but it had a lot of impact on the story. That guy is so nuts to think he can act like that and think he will get custody. I enjoyed the chapter very much.

Thank you for the kind review. I hope she gets help from Ellen, too.

Well structured. Tight, clean and realistic dialog. Realistic characters. I really don't have any suggestions on how to make this any better. I'd like to see where this goes and what Anna's next moves are.

Hi Barbara,
Even though shorter than the other chapters this one made my heart race. Bobby is a violent man and I hope Anna can avoid him when she gets out of the hospital, not only for her sake but for the little boy, as well. I think Ellen Collier may be an angel in hospital clothing. Well done. I will have trouble waiting for the next chapter!...blessings, chey

Very different approach of love and romance, Barbara. I haven't read much of you lately but this may the best one yet--VERY REALISTIC. I suppose many people wouldn't like realistic though, as they read fiction to escape reality. I found no errors. Great chapter.

I enjoyed the story. It is believable and pretty much to the point. It was nice of the nurse to help out although her involvement may be grounds for a liability issue depending on the outcome. I look forward to the part of the volunteer at the door. Thanks for sharing.
