A well-constructed sonnet in terms of rhyme and rhythm with a satisfying volta at the beginning of the third stanza. Good use both of assonance and alliteration. In that context I particularly liked "It sought the beauty brilliance signifies". Your exploration of the theme of age wearying the soul and dulling the inspiration is one with which we can all identify at times.
