This is a great story that is complete despite the restriction. I love the images developed. This is a great entry.
God bless in the competition.

Good job John with your story about Blaze and his determination not to wear a cup. Your descriptive details were spot on and the twist at the end with his coach also being is dad was a nice one. 8-)

Boy, he is tough to take a hit like that voluntarily. He chose to accept the consequence for being hard-headed and not following directions. The scenes are clear.I like the ending and the message.

A very cute story that probably most young men can relate to. You took a very different approach to the topic, which I find attractive in a story. I like to be surprised.
The story flowed well, and the interest was kept.

Five stars for a well written piece in terms of imagery, grammar and punctuation. I'm not sure I get the story though, but forgive me as I know nothing about baseball. I just don't get (a) why a player wouldn't wear a cup and (b) why a coach (especially a father) would inflict pain and possibly a devastating injury on a player.

The cup protects the "family jewels" as the boys refer to there testicles.
Thank you for reading this short story. Always appreciated. John

Good idea and well excecuted. Nice surprise at the end with the coach being his dad. That boy had better start wearing a cup. I think he might try it now. :)

No, Blaze (no relation to your story) is a defiant lad.
Nah, just kidding. Thanks for reading. John
