Excellent free style poem reminded me of the blues or country in terms of subject and handling. The tone and voice are direct, confessional as if told to a bartender. I feel this man's regret over a loss and hope for finding her again. You told a story poem that was all too real. Thank you for sharing.

Yes the artwork does complement the poem - red lights all over the panel. The warning's there. Your poetry and your lyrics paint a great picture of the folklore of modern American life. This one is a little snapshot of angst and misery brought about as you freely admit by your own behaviour but even that doesn't make it easier to bear.

This is a powerful poem with a neat beat. My but I hope that eventually you found a way to communicate, get a stronger relationship and eventually be reconciled. It's not always easy being married, but it's worth all the struggle which gets less over the years. You're in my prayers.

Hi Brett,

This is a nice little poem. You did a good job writing it. Is it a true story or something that just came to your mind? Regardless, I had a great time reading it.

Kat

This poem has the makings of a country western song. It has set up the conundrum of whether to keep waiting in the station or hop on a bus and go to Mohammad (the girl).

Thanks for the poem Brett, your artwork and freestyle format, there's no artwork and it's in couplet rhyming, the syllable count is a little awry but apart from that it's quite nicely written, in fact quite good, the language expression is good and it has reasonable to it. Well done, blessings Roy.

Great lyrics for a song here. Good rhyme, rhythm, and flow. Tells the story of a lost love due to lying and cheating. Those two things will always do a person in.

Hi Brett, Your story poem reminded me of my own memories on the Greyhound bus. Seeing all those people with suitcases in hand now reminds me of everyone going to a promised land; destination unknown. I could feel your anxiety at the end of the paragraph. "It's two in the morning, I need her." Take care and cheers.

Yes, lying and stepping out are not recipes for a happy and lasting relationship.
I like the mind-picture of her with the suitcase and the way the conversation unfolds, with a Greyhound bus at that. Very original.
Thanks for sharing this story in verse.
Have a nice weekend
:) Tessa

This is a very good song/poem
It reads very well, like one of those talking songs
The rhyme is excellent in aabb pattern
When I first read the title, I though about a greyhound dog
Maybe I wasn't that far off
"Nothing that I ever did put a smile upon her face"
doesn't leave much room for hope
If she's not back by morning gonna leave this love behind
Must have been a deep relationship
Very well done
