I see that this is entered in a contest. I hope you win and you can thank Roy for inspiring you to write this perfect essay about this experience and how it connects, not only you and your son, but all of us who have kids and parents. Loved this piece.

Thank you. I never thought of entering this story in a contest or even writing it until I found the Valentine. I don't know how I could have forgotten it all these years. Thank you for the six stars.

Your story touched my heart so much that I felt the tears come. You have told us a story by going through the items saved in boxes in an attic and the long put off job of sorting them out. The story is so well written and you have built up to the climax of finding your sons' memories for the last. This is a poignant love story and I have a practically identical one myself--such sad memories. good job

Thank you. Sad memories but also happy ones of better times. I don't know how I ever forgot the Valentine was in the attic all these years.

A touching tribute to your son. I'm sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose a loved one, but a son is tragic. I'm so glad that you found his note.

Thank you, Thomas. It was quite a shock to find the Valentine in that box of memories. I Don't know how I could have forgotten it all these years.

I think you did send him one. And, like you, I saw what was coming and steeled my reserve, but the tears that are streaming down my face right now are a testimony to the emotionally provocative writing.
So many reviewers use their sixes carefully, but always find use for one after they are all gone.
Bless you, the whole theme, message, and raw live that flowed through this Wonderful story touched my heart forever, and whenever I hear that phrase,
"Till the cows come home",
I will remember and she'd another tear.
Blessings,
Brother Badger

Thank you. I didn't mean to make anyone cry over this. I cried enough tears for all of us. I don't know how I could have forgotten this precious memento of my son.

Not to worry, they are tears of joy for our lives and your fondest memories.
