I enjoyed your lyrics which celebrate the diversity of beliefs. It reminds me of the Disney song "It's a Small World After All," but you go further by addressing the often contentious issue of faith. You extol our common bonds and what unites us:
what matter the names
it is faith binding all
together we celebrate
apart we will fall
This reminds me of the maxim, "United we stand, divided we fall."
Lyrics remind me of an interview I saw last night of the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir composed of peoples of many faiths. Choir members even talked about singing songs of other faiths, and the strategies they use so as to not denigrate any one's faith.
You know all of the key components of a song--verse, chorus, bridge, vamp out--and vary them in a natural progression.
This line would sing smoother by omitting the "and"
holiday, holiday
(and) all are united
You show real talent as a songwriter. I wish you success not only in this contest, but in your songwriting career.

Beautiful Imaging and Color that accents the Lyrics of this musical orchestration.
Without hearing the music it does have lyrical quality that I can sound out in my own mind.
What matters here to me is that we as a whole here on Fanstory have the "Freedom" to "Speak" of any and all Issues whether being Politically Correct or Not and whether one is Christian or Non-Christian.
The cohesion of Imagery, Lyrics with Poetic Verse are well entertained in this writing.

This seems more like a Christmas holiday song because you mention lights and a haul (presents). But it could be any holiday season where peace and giving are main components.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, everyone. What does it matter, as long as each one is given that right...Happy holidays, Merry Christmas are greetings. Those greetings are what the individual has grown comfortable with and in America that should be permitted. This politically correct stuff is a bit stuffy and tiring. Good poem. God bless. Janie
