Thank you. It wasn't the first time we had cow rustlers. Our farm was large and spread out so it was hard to keep an eye on everything.

A good story with a happy ending (unfortunately not for the animals). I scratch my head at what people will do to animals and other people these days. I enjoyed your story and kudos to you for getting back into writing. Very enjoyable and well written. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you. Yeah, if they wanted beef, they could have come and asked my husband for a job and he would have let them work to earn some.

What a story! Thanks for sharing it and like you, I was shocked at the horrific massacre of the animals. But God showed how stupid they were overall. So glad that justice was swift. Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you. We weren't always that lucky. We had cattle rustlers before that got away with it.

As a farm wife myself I can relate to your story which is written with the true emotions you'd expect faced with such an incident.
Your final paragraph is music to the ears and a clever story ending.
Good luck.
Blessings

If tis is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, I'm glad as dairy farmers things turned out well, for we lived in the hills of Virginie where Dunkards lived and were large into dairy operations. I know how challenging that life can be. Well done.
