DeepWater. The photo art is eye catching. Presentation is everything! The poetic words are touching and encouraging. Friends are important. A person needs friends that you can count on in every walk of life. I enjoyed your piece of work. Carole

Your poem conveys a sweet, strong message about the love between a man and his best friend. There is no greater bond, I believe. Your poem flows nicely and you've made good use of alliteration. The second line would read better, in my opinion, if you'd eliminate the word "It". Thanks for sharing. Alana

Much to say of a friend, and friend is such indeed.
A little write depicting the value of friendship which we all strive to have but many give little in return. True friends try to give as much as they get, yet in different ways, without looking to repay.
Best wishes,
RGstar

Hello. A friend, without one standing by life would be less worth than a puddle in the ocean.
A staunch friend, that is the gift of life, and this poem says that much.

I like the proud - even triumphant - tone of this and the clear sense of devotion. There are some errors in it, though, and they make your meanings difficult to divine. I think a quick run-through for punctuation would help accentuate the beautiful sentiments.

Timely reading for me. I am actually dog-sitting this week. It is so peaceful to retreat and rest, for just awhile, from the madness of a two-legged kingdom.

Very good read this one. Yes, go earn it ( hint hint freebie liberals out there ) and be proud of what you achieve. I love this !

This is a beautiful poem about man's best friend. This poem makes me think of the service dogs who labor as man's best friend in so many fields. You captured the essence of their service in the lines, "Will shelter his one friend
the one that he knows best."

Just read your previous poem - Venus Fly Trap, which I enjoyed very much. I like the content of this one - The Friend - good sentiment but not as well written grammatically than your previous one. Nevertheless, it is a good read and deserves the stars. Thank you - Regards Dorothy
