Such a very moving piece of writing. I haven't read Leaf on the Wind, I came to FS too late. I'm happy that you have at last found peace in your life, and that you and your Mother were reconciled before it was too late. I'm pleased also to hear you are enjoying your life now, you deserve it.

when i first read this i had no idea what sort of comment i would put in this box, it starts off really sad when you talk of your family and what your father did and what happened to you as a result, then the ending is probably the happiest it could ever been, you found closure and now look forward to each day. you found peace and were able to forgive your mother. you're brave facign up to your past and your fears, alot of people can't.
i seem to rememeber you saying your bio was going to be published, i'll buy when it comes out. could you sign it for me?

Hi there!
As soon as I glanced this pic in top stories I knew I had to get and read this! I got caught up earlier in the day, and didn't back into the PM's so I wasn't sure what you posted. Of course I enjoyed reading this inspirational story, a fine tribute to your mum in later times, what a shame it took this. And the poem, heartfelt - I'm glad it turns in its ending and that you have found your happiness. Good Luck in the contest. M.

Beautifully written, Smurphgirl. But then, your writing is always beautiful and entertaining. You've found your niche, you've found your place it seems too. What I most like about your story is that you were able to forgive and love your mother. How brave of her too to urge you to write your story. It's uplifting and your poem is moving and gorgeous. Good luck to you. Penelope

Sasha... This is wonderful. You have concentrated on the ultimate. Mine concentrated on the build up with no real mention of the ultimate. Yours puts mine in the shade. Good luck, dear.

Reading these entries makes me realise quickly that I had a very blessed childhood and that not everybody can enjoy that. You are one very courageous example.
You tell a brave story my friend and I had to wipe away the tears at the very end.
This flowed effortlessly and I found it so compelling as I read. I can certainly understand why you wish to start your scrapbook from the time that you did.
I also like the way you stated in your notes that your home is your scrapbook. I like that. One big scrapbook and thats the way it should be.
Well done on a beautiful and very personal write on your journey to the present.
Good luck with your entry...

Because of my own past, I can only say you are one of the bravest people I have ever known of. What you have written, to put on paper for the world to see, takes such astonishing courage it takes my breath away. You have not only overcome a most unhappy childhood and youth, you have risen above it all and are a great success. I admire you tremendously and know your future will brighten with each day. Peace and joy, Joan

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous words. I also thank you for your wonderful 6 stars. It has been a long, rough road but it brought to to where I am today, so I suppose it was meant to be. I a truly happy, and as I said, what more could I ask for?
Comment from Readywriter52
I'm happy that you came to terms with your past. It's good that you and your mother became friends. It's difficult to overcome a difficult childhood, but it's worthwhile if you can.

Sasha,
You have come a long way. As I type through the tears, I commend you on your accomplishments. You are a wonderful artist and an accomplished author. You left your dark life behind and came into the light. I pray that the rest of your life is blessed. This is a great entry for the contest.
